Possibly — it depends on your plan. HSA and FSA administrators vary on what they cover, and educational wellness resources like Birch & Light fall into a gray area. Some plans will approve them, especially when recommended by a licensed provider such as a therapist or pediatrician. If your child's therapist or doctor has suggested Birch & Light as part of their support, a written recommendation may help support your reimbursement request. We always recommend checking directly with your HSA or FSA administrator before purchasing.

On day 14 your membership begins at the plan you chose, $12.99/month or $99/year, using the card you added. We email you before that happens. If it is not right for your family, cancel in Settings before day 14 and nothing is charged. Everything you have logged stays saved either way.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel anytime, including during your trial. Go to Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. One tap, no email, no phone call. Cancel before day 14 and nothing is charged. Cancel later and you keep access through the end of the period you have paid for. Your data stays yours either way.

Chat answers are always grounded in the moments and notes you've actually logged for that specific person.

AI Chat uses large language models (currently from Google and OpenAI) to translate those patterns into plain-language reflections, always grounded in your actual logs for that specific person. LightMap is a parenting and self-reflection tool — it is not medical, psychological, or diagnostic advice, can occasionally be wrong or incomplete, and should never replace care from a qualified professional. Muse is a reflection and pattern-spotting tool, not a clinician, and it does not diagnose or replace professional care.

LightMap offers two levels of reporting. Recap Reports turn the time period you choose into a clear summary of patterns, triggers, timing, intensity, what helped, and the moments behind the picture. Go Deeper with Muse reads the fuller longitudinal record and develops possible explanations for the patterns, including evidence that supports each possibility and evidence that may not fit. Both can be saved or shared as PDFs with a co-parent, therapist, doctor, school professional, or another person you choose.

A Recap Report organizes what happened during a selected time period. It shows what repeated, when hard moments tended to occur, what helped, and the underlying entries. Go Deeper with Muse asks a different question: what processes might be driving the pattern across time? It reads the broader LightMap history, Care Profile, story work, and any outside reports you have chosen to add, then presents hypotheses with evidence for and against each one. It is designed to help you ask better questions with your care team, not to provide a diagnosis.

Can I add outside evaluations or provider reports?

Yes. In the child's Care Profile, you can upload a PDF or clear photo of an evaluation or provider report. Muse reads the document, shows you the summary it found, and asks you to review or edit it before anything is added to Clinical history. Go Deeper can then use that approved context alongside the child's LightMap history. The files stay private to your account and can be deleted at any time.
